Annie McCrystal

Anita, known as Annie, is an Aussie girl from Darwin in the Top End of Australia. She completed her Physiotherapy degree at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia in 2008. While studying in Perth, she was the physio for the University Rugby team and also toured interstate with State Representative Rugby teams as the Team Physio. As part of completing her physio studies, Annie spent time treating athletes at an elite sports institute in Guangzhou, China and also with Perth Glory – one of the teams in the Australian professional football league, the A-League. Annie has a keen interest in sport and travel, from living and travelling through the UK and Europe to a winter season in Whistler, Canada where she worked at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Most of her life back in Australia was spent doing Artistic Gymnastics and later competitive Cheerleading, touring nationally and internationally for both. Annie started with Six as a Pilates Physiotherapist in August 2010 and is passionate about Pilates and it's principles. She believes it is hugely effective in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, especially neck and low back pain.

Jané came to England from South Africa as a teenager. After completing her A-Levels she worked and travelled around the world, qualifying as a PADI divemaster. On her return she studied Physiotherapy at Brunel university and graduated in 2004. Her physio career started in Haringey and she moved to University College London Hospitals in 2006 where she specialised in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal physiotherapy from 2007-2010. In her free time she combined physiotherapy with another passion- rugby, and worked as a team physiotherapist for 2 years. She started teaching Pilates from 2007 and is passionate about its benefits for all round conditioning and injury prevention. Jané is qualified with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. Jané is also passionate about wildlife conservation and took a small career break to travel for 9 months in 2010, visiting the countries on her 'bucket list', including the Galapagos islands. During this wonderful experience she was able to volunteer in conservation and practise underwater photography. Her other interest is baking and she baked her brother's wedding cake earlier this year. One of the six things you don't know about Jané is that she qualified as a safari guide for Southern Africa last year.

Vicky Baker

Vicky began life in the city having completed a degree in Accountancy. After realising that she couldn't be further from her calling in life, she spent some time trotting around several continents before returning to England and embarking upon a Physiotherapy degree. She qualified at the University of East London in 2005. On graduation she worked at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust gaining a wide range of experience in several clinical specialties including acute sporting injuries and chronic musculo- skeletal conditions, orthopedic surgery rehabilitation and women's health. She is also APPI Pilates trained. Vicky has a passion for the world and the people in it which means she loves to travel, talk and meet as many people as possible, and has an insatiable (and sometimes frustrating) need for variety and to experience as many things in life as possible! These traits led her to take a short career break and spend some time working with a youth and education charity- which involved period of time in a remote tribal village in Southern India working with 20 young people from Liverpool. Shortly after returning to England, she was subjected to a sudden and unexpected bout of illness which gave her first hand experience of being a patient, the fears and anxieties that come with illness and injury and what it is like to not be able to go about your life as usual and do the things you love. Pilates and yoga have both played a huge role in her own rehabilitation leading her to seek out the Physiotherapy Pilates role at SIX. One of the SIX things you didn't know about Vicky: she nearly blew it with the man of her dreams (now her husband) when she pulled out a didgeridoo and started playing it on one of her first dates... (erm... didgeri-don't)
