Physiotherapy can counter poor work ergonomics Office workers can suffer from a host of ailments from back pain to tight shoulders, but a recent study has revealed evidence that physiotherapy can help ease the symptoms.

Published in the February edition of the International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation, the study centered on a 29-year-old man suffering from painful neck and back muscles.

It aimed to focus on the roles of physiotherapy and ergonomics in treating work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

The problems had come about due to poor work ergonomics thanks to prolonged periods at his workstation.

Physiotherapists treated the man and not only helped ease his pain at work but also noted positive changes in his work status and daily activities.

In conclusion, the report stated: "Physiotherapy intervention combined with ergonomic consideration was beneficial in addressing the work-related musculoskeletal disorder."
