Sports injury treatment could allow Wes Brown to return for World Cup

  • Tuesday, 09 March 2010 17:37
Wes Brown may be able to return to Premier League action this season, thereby boosting his chances of playing in this summer's World Cup. Sports injury treatment could allow Wes Brown to return for World Cup

A scan on Brown's foot injury revealed that the Manchester United defender could be out for up to six week.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said the player may be able to return for the team's final three Premier League games.

Brown suffered a suspected broken metatarsal in a challenge with Wolves midfielder Matt Jarvis at the weekend.

The player was forced to leave the ground in a protective boot and will now undergo sports injury treatment.

United have a long list of injury problems with Anderson, Ryan Giggs and John O'Shea all suffering from long-term injuries that will keep them out of tomorrow's match with AC Milan.

However, the team have been boosted by the news that Wayne Rooney will be fit to play in the Champions League tie after recovering from a knee problem.
