Jennie asked the Guru about Back/ Shoulder pain

April 3, 2014

I broke my shoulder 3 years ago and have metal work holding me together. Have been doing weekly clinical pilates since that time and is strengthening slowly. However, due to a year in a sling, my upper back has got very stiff and ‘crunchy’.
Pilates and massage isn’t helping. What can i try?

Hi Jennie

Try rolling up a towel, like you’re heading to the beach. Put it on the floor and put a pillow at the top of it like a “T”. Now lie on it – head on a pillow, rolled towel down the middle of your back and bend your knees. hang out for 10 minutes on the floor AM and PM….you can do the same thing with a foam roller. Progress it to scissoring your arm etc..

No pain….really it can’t be painful

….really sorry for the delay
