Tessa has acute shoulder pain but the Guru relates this pain to her neck

March 24, 2015

For the last two weeks I have had acute shoulder pain when putting my coat on, it radiates all the way down my arm enough to make me yelp.

I’ve noticed that my forearm feels tight too and the tightness goes right through my left hand between thumb and forefinger. I have no idea what’s caused it, but I am unable to sleep on my left side at night as the pain wakes me up.

There is a sore spot below my left shoulder blade which I have tried rolling out with one of those small pressure balls leaning against a door.

Any thoughts gratefully received!
Thanks Tessa

Hi Tessa

Sounds like you’ve got an issue with your neck, but feel the symptoms in your shoulder – which is more common than you’d think.

Try putting your coat on but keep your head still – rest it into a wall in a good position type way and you’ll feel a difference.

Then try some of these fab thoracic spine stretches to allow your neck to move better and stop referring pain into your shoulder and arm….https://www.sixphysio.com/video
