Undiagnosed Hip Pain

Emmy Fleming asked The Guru for the following Physiotherapy Advice:
Pain in left groin area causes a limp and pain. Xray of hip fine ultra sound of groin is normal.Have had pain for 2 months no injury.Can not stand for long time or walk properly.MRI coming up. No apparent reason for pain.Hope you can help.

If you hip, as in the structure is all pretty good, then the most usual suspect is referred pain from your lumbar spine.
You may not necessarily have any pain or stiffness here, but it can refer pain perfectly.
I’d be very tempted to let someone have a good look at this area, especially how it’s movement relates to the bit above it, the thoracic spine. Usually it’s the relative difference in movement between the 2 areas that causes the referral into your hip.
The standing issue maybe posturally related and the effect on the low back and walking may affect either your sciatic nerve or poor control around your gluts.
