Knee Pain from running in class

January 31, 2014

Alan asked the Guru for the following Physiotherapy advice:

I’m getting a dull pain to the side of my right knee whilst running in class, I stopped running for a few weeks and had a sports massage. I returned to running in class today, the pain is still there but not as intense. Not sure if I need physio for this or to continue with sports massage.

Best wishes Alan

Hi Alan

Inside or outside of your knee?

Inside most likely you’re having issues with how your knee cap moves, outside and you’ll be having issue with your ITB flicking over the outside of your knee. Either way, you should be getting better!

Seeing a SM is great at making you feel better, but I’m not quite sure it gets rid of why you’re feeling it.

Give it another 5 days and if no better, go and see a Physio
