Hannah asks the Guru about sever pain in her shoulder, arm, check & neck

January 11, 2016

Hi, I have been suffering severe pain in my right shoulder, arm, chest and neck and numbness in hand for sometime.

I have worn discs in mid spine and schmorls nodes in lumbar region. I also suffer vasovagal syncope and pass out falling on right side. Doc thinks this is not related. I’m pretty sure it is and could be cervical raduiocularpathy?

Is this possible and what would be the best place to start re treatment.

I try to avoid painkillers unless pain is unbearable.

Thanks

Hannah

Hi Hannah

May be, maybe not – tricky to make that call online.

What you see on MRI may have very little relevance to what you feel – and some of those changes maybe totally normal for you.

Vasovagal stuff can be common with some sympathetic nervous system dysfunctions emanating from around your thoracic spine, just as you may an issue with your vertebral artery in your neck giving you weird passing out sensations…..

I’m not much help, sorry!

I think it’s probably a good idea to see a Physio who knows a few things and can assess you in front of them.

Good Luck out there…
