Suspected injury to shoulder, chest and trap

January 10, 2019

Good Morning,

I have recently suffered a suspected injury to a combination of shoulder, chest and trap on my left side through work at the gym. I have seen a physio whom advised i have frankly overworked a muscle on the area so i am looking to see if sports massage would help. Obviously it would also be good to get a second opinion on this.

Regards

I’m not so sure…

I think with a combination of symptoms such as yours I’d suspect you’ve got an issue with your neck giving referred pain – and the surrounding muscles stiffen up to protect your neck (and so don’t really need releasing…you’ll feel better but may feels worse tomorrow type of thing).

I’m sure if you got better movement in your thoracic spine and had better form when lifting, you’d take the excessive pressure of your neck and have pretty much zero symptoms.

You should have a word with Cait who runs the clinic just around the corner from you…
