But can't tell you this week's lottery numbers!

I’m not sure which service would suit me best. I am 30 years old and have had on going back pain behind my right scapula for the last 10-12 years which i thought was from training without enough rest. I had two years working in Korea where i relaxed more and trained less, but my back never got better.
Since then i have thought it may be down to my posture and lots of sitting, I generally lean to my left when sitting or getting comfortable. I am starting Drama School in January and I want to go in, in good physical condition. I am fit and healthy and none of the pain is debilitating, but i think it might be causing other pains and twinges in other parts of my body.
What are your thoughts?
The Guru Responded:
I don’t think you’re getting any better as you are not addressing why you’ve got pain – you’re just symptom chasing.
You’ve got an issue with your neck, which refers pain to behind your shoulder blade.
Every time you slouch when sitting – watching TV, laptop, phone, you poke your chin out a little to see what you’re doing. This causes the joints in the middle of your neck to becomes over stretched, which is not a problem as long as you can “control” this over stretched movement, but if you can’t (and it sounds as if you can’t) then you’ll irritate the joints, which commonly refers pain way down, behind your shoulder blade.
So, you need to get your thoracic spine moving, learn how to control your head on neck and get a little more strength around your shoulder.
You need to see a Physio, get some rehab – making sure your understand the cause of your pain and then make a plan and program to get you to the starting line in January.
Let me know if you need any recommendations.
