During my time in Tasmania I had various roles. I had a time where I would fly to King Island (population of around 2000 people, probably more sheep and cows) often just me and the pilot, treat my patients, and fly home. Sports wise I worked with a Tasmanian State League netball team, had involvement with local Aussie Rules teams including the Tasmanian Devils VFL team, and local basketball.
I was the sole Physiotherapist for a time in the mining town of Queenstown, travelling at times through snow and ice in the winter, and bush fires in the summer to get there. I have worked in hydrotherapy, done occupational health and safety visits with local dairy factories and abattoirs, but mostly spent my time in orthopaedic outpatient clinics.
Since being in London I have predominantly worked at Six Physio as a manual therapist, expanding on my interest in treating headaches and working with the myofascial trains/chains in the body. I have taught myofascial taping courses across the UK also.
Hitting the winning runs in a cricket final. Coming in to bat at number 11, with 2 runs needed to win, I believed there was 2 deliveries left and was thinking just get a single and get to the other end. As I get to the middle the umpire says “last ball”. In a daze of panic I managed to get the ball through a gap and got back for the second run as the keeper was about to take the bails off.
