Working background:

Lucy spent the first 3 years of her Physiotherapy career at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where she completed rotations in Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Women’s and Men’s Health, Oncology, Neurology, Respiratory and Hand Therapy.

It was during this rotation into Hand Therapy that Lucy found a passion for Upper Limb Physiotherapy and the intricacies and specialist knowledge of the upper limb and it’s vital importance in human beings everyday life that drew her to the role she would specialise in.

Lucy continued to specialise in upper limb Physiotherapy at St. George’s University Hospital where she was exposed to a huge variety of upper limb conditions such as acute tendon and ligament repairs, fractures and nerve injuries all the way through to more chronic conditions such as arthritis, carpal tunnel, work related upper limb disorders and frozen shoulder.

Specialising in the upper Limb has given Lucy a detailed knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the upper limb and the huge importance it has in our daily life; from being able to get dressed in the morning to body language to being an international tennis player, without the hand, wrist and arm functioning properly our basic everyday tasks can become almost near impossible!

Lucy now splits her time between Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as a Hand Therapist working with some of the leading plastics and orthopaedic surgeons as well as an excellent rheumatology team and Six Physio in Fitzrovia as a clinical specialist for upper limb physiotherapy.

She is a keen sports woman herself – playing regional netball for the last 5 years and has a keen interest in sports injuries and the musicians hand.
