Lynne Cantwell

Lynne holds an MSc Physiotherapy (pre-reg) from the University of Southampton and an honors degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Limerick. She has completed her Post Graduate certificates in Advanced Sports Rehabilitation and Manual Therapy from the University of Curtin in Perth, Australia and completed her Pilates training with STOTT Pilates International.

Specialising in the treatment and management of complex spinal injuries and pain disorders, Lynne’s knowledge and experience encompasses the lower limb: she enjoys rehabilitation and higher-level training post complex hip and knee injuries. Lynne is passionate about sport, heading up Munster rugby club’s Strength and Conditioning program for their elite Academy while working as their team physio for a successful two seasons. 

Lynne is a former Irish International rugby player who vice captained her country to Irelands first ever Grand Slam, Six Nations victory in 2013 and received the Rugby Writers Player of the Year prestigious accolade. She is the most capped women in Ireland’s history and took center stage to beat New Zealand for the first time ever in the 2014, before finishing 4th in the World, Irelands best ever finish.  Since retiring, she has advised on World Rugby’s athletes committee, writes and reports on International competitions and guest speaks at different sports and business events. She hopes in the future to complete further study in the performance world.
