Stephen Garvey

Stephen graduated from St Georges University of London with a BSc in Physiotherapy. After graduating, Stephen worked at St Georges Hospital for 4 years specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

During his studies he worked with Saracens Rugby Club, Harlequins Rugby League, toured with various 7’s rugby sides and was a physiotherapist for the weightlifting athletes and para-athletes at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014.  Stephen is also the Head of Physiotherapy at Wimbledon Rugby Club and is the Academy Physiotherapist at London Irish Rugby Club.

Stephen has strong passion for all things musculoskeletal, but has a special interest in post-operative, sporting and lower limb conditions and is currently writing a research paper on patellofemoral pain syndrome.

His love of cycling and lower limb conditions has led him to become a Cycling Bike Fit Specialist with SixPhysio. Stephen uses video analysis to assess your biomechanics to optimise performance, comfort and aerodynamics. He has worked with cyclists ranging from commuters, sportive and time-trial enthusiasts.

When Stephen is not working, he enjoys anything that provides an adrenaline rush, such as, rugby, road and track cycling, skiing and athletics.

One of the six things you didn`t know about Stephen, is that he resides from Limerick, Ireland and has been known to recite a few humorous Limerick’s from time to time.
