Knee pain for over 3 weeks

March 16, 2018

Hi,

I’ve been experiencing pain in my left pain for over 3 weeks now. What I thought was just over-training and would disappear quickly keeps coming back upon running.

I initially thought it was a case of runner’s knee and bought a patella band, which helped to some extent. The pain has however been moving towards the side of the pain and while foam rolling, there is some deep pain along the entire IT band.

Is that something you could help with? If yes, what is the easiest way to get an appointment (as well as an idea of the pricing)?

Many thanks!
Bertrand

Hi Bertrand

Yes – I’m pretty sure this is something we can help you with. We see it pretty much ever day!

You’ve done the right stuff so far, but what you’ve got is like a bruise or a blister. You’ve got a little bit of irritated tissue due to over training. It settles well with rest, but every time you bend you knee – walking, up/down stairs getting out of a chair etc you poke the bruise or prod the blister which keeps the tissue nicely irritated. This gives a little more swelling and the pain doesn’t really get any better.

So you need to steer away from a passive, wait and see approach and go to the right level of active intervention – rehab. Right stuff, right time for the right result.

I’d definitely start here with this ITB Superset

Let me know if you’d like to book in and I’ll get you in front of the right Physio – initial hour fee is £95.
